Seeing Yesudas, living unlived times

19 August, 2008 (16:21) | People | By: Cris

Long nourished dream came true today. I saw K J Yesudas in person. It was a function to pay homage to the late singer Shantha P Nair. Yesudas had given a neat little speech and after few other speeches there was this wonderful documentary about the great lady. Really enjoyed listening to her speak about the old times and some of those old songs which I have heard my Mom sing often. Though it was an era totally faded in memories of the older generation, I found myself missing those times. It is a strange feeling that you get, like when you watch really old movies and imagine yourself in those times (I like to imagine myself in a theatre in those times watching that movie and the people and the world around me, rather than being inside the movie). Hard to put in words, cause it is not just nostalgia, its losing something you never knew the taste of, and something that brings with it the smell and the air of yester years. Maybe it is at times like this that you might want to imagine about multiple births and having spent one all that time ago.

Aaachoo. I hab goth Ze-Gold.

14 August, 2008 (23:59) | Just talking | By: Cris

Aa Aa Aaachoo. I have got it. The dangerous Ze-Gold. Predicting the recent future to be drowned mercilessly in fever. Cant believe less than 24 hours ago, I was a healthy human. Health seems like an unattainable state. Maybe there is something like that somewhere in this world. Maybe in Neptune. I have decided to start a quest to discover it. Hmm but do I really want it?

Non-living friends: nothing abnormal about it

10 August, 2008 (22:36) | Theory, life | By: Cris

There is a movie of Tom Hanks. Cast Away. I haven’t watched it but heard the story. Bringing that up cause it has got a volley ball. Yeah like that’s the best reason for someone to blog. You see Tom Hanks talks to this volley ball. Aha always knew ol’ Tom was losing something – his head. He is stranded in this island somewhere for years and only has the ball to keep him company. Name, Wilson. Not Hanks’s. I meant the volley ball.

Why I shouldnt write today?

8 August, 2008 (23:59) | Just talking | By: Cris

I wanted to make daily blogging a, hmm, daily thing! Unfortunately thoughts just vanish like that sometimes – zap! And when thoughts vanish, words vanish. And writing without words, could be a little difficult. The important thing to know about writing is to know when not to write. Obviously I do not know the important thing!
And hence, I am here.

Unloosening self: A complete pleasure package

7 August, 2008 (23:59) | Personal | By: Cris

Birthday of one really close person today. Been to a party to celebrate the occasion. Really enjoyed the girl-girl chats for the entire 2 or more hours there. Forgot what it meant to be chatting absolute nonsense in a group you belong. In college or school or in the company of cousins half-cracked as you are! Realized again enjoyment happens when you are totally and completely unaware or unbothered about what you say or reveal or how you behave. Ok being a restaurant I couldnt exactly do high jumps or sing “The Vengabus is comin”.

Politeness: A must in all conversations

6 August, 2008 (21:12) | life | By: Cris

I once blogged about the appropriate questions for first time talks with new acquaintances. Today I was the prey to that when I was asked, besides my family background, my age. Hmm I have never found it an offending question till today. But today on saying it, it produced a series of questions regarding my matrimonial plans. It was not mere questions but seemingly deep concern on my single status in 20 something. Hmm I reflected that there is someone’s feelings entirely missed out in the whole episode. Someone who should be really concerned over the single status, and was not. Namely, me.

National language, no national language

5 August, 2008 (22:37) | My Musing Moments | By: Cris

Uff took a 2-day long break. Was caught up with a bit of eye trouble. Now back with all the energy gained from Magi noodles and tomato ketchup.

(Not follow-on eye-trouble) Yesterday I happened to see and hear ONV in person and felt quite good about it. Didn’t know the great poet was also a great orator. It was so amazing to listen to his conversation flowing from one thought to another. Mm let me think… what did he talk about? Oh yeah, language. I didn’t think there was such a lot of meaning to language, culture and communication.
